Psathi
Psathi - Eiland Ios
Psathi is een kleine, toeristische badplaats in het westen van eiland Ios, achttien kilometer van Ios stad. Het ligt in de gelijknamige baai waar een mooi zandstrand is. Op het strand zijn parasols en ligstoelen te huur. Net als Agia Theodoti iets noordelijker, is Psathi uitermate geschikt voor de mensen die niet van al te veel drukte houden. In Psathi is er een lang zandstrand en in de baai daarnaast een kleiner zandstrand. Er zijn enkele hotels en tavernes.
Het strand van Psathi op Ios
In een rotsachtig gebied, ten westen van Psathi, bevinden zich de ruïnes van het kasteel van Paleokastro dat in de middeleeuwen door de Byzantijnen is gebouwd. In het kasteel bevindt zich het kapelletje van Panagia Paleokastritissa. Met de auto kun je hier niet komen, er is een bergpaadje dat vanaf half de route Agia Theodoti – Psathi naar Paleokastro loopt.
